Theresa's Story

Theresa Guy, RCSWI, is a dedicated and dynamic therapist at SHARE Therapy and Wellness who brings both skill and warmth to her work with adults navigating anxiety, depression, eating disorders, borderline personality disorder (BPD), mood disorders, and high-acuity mental health needs. She has extensive experience supporting individuals with LGBTQ+ identities and is passionate about helping clients embrace their authenticity.

A self-described Ravenclaw, Theresa loves weaving wisdom and wit into her therapy sessions, often using Harry Potter and other pop culture references to make complex psychological concepts more relatable. Whether discussing emotional regulation through the logic of Dumbledore or exploring cognitive distortions with the strategic thinking of a wizard’s chess master, she believes therapy should be both engaging and thought-provoking.

Theresa takes an eclectic and deeply personalized approach to therapy, integrating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy Skills (DBT), Strength-Based, Person-Centered, Relational Therapy, and Mindfulness-based Therapy. She also draws inspiration from Buddhist principles, helping clients explore self-responsibility and attachment as key factors in emotional suffering.

With a background in both inpatient and outpatient mental health settings, Theresa has developed a strong foundation in evidence-based care. She has trained extensively in DBT, including DBT and RO-DBT skill programs, with the goal of increasing emotional resiliency, flexibility, and social connectedness. Her ability to balance structure with creativity allows her to meet clients where they are while guiding them toward meaningful growth.

Above all, Theresa fosters a nonjudgmental and validating space where clients feel safe to explore their struggles, build resilience, and reclaim their lives. Whether you're working through deep emotional pain, struggling with self-worth, or looking for a therapist who truly “gets it,” Theresa is here to help you navigate the journey—one spell, skill, or step at a time.
